About The Position
NOVA Engineering is seeking an ICC Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete) for our Charlotte, N C office. This role involves performing structural inspections for rebar, masonry, post-tensioning, and foundations, as well as field materials testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt. The position also includes preparing detailed field reports, performing laboratory tests, evaluating site conditions, and communicating with clients and staff.
Requirements
- ICC Reinforced Concrete certification required
- Ability to learn to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Nice To Haves
- PTI Certification is a plus
Responsibilities
- Structural inspections for rebar, masonry, post-tensioning, and foundations
- Performing field materials testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt
- Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations provided
- Performing laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results
- Evaluating site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations
- Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues
