Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an ICBM-S Integration & Test Systems Engineering Manager 2. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT. This position may offer a competitive relocation package. People leadership for a Minuteman III ICBM Sustainment systems engineering organization, to include performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning. Provide project and technical oversight for activities performed by the group. Provide ownership of and direction to the processes used by the group. Create a vision for an engineering team and work to make that vision a reality. Provide proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers. Support department initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and NCTA project leadership. Lead a diverse team of engineers performing project development, technical requirements review, system support, planning and sustainment for a diverse set of products in the missile, air and space domains. Responsible for the strategic implementation of skills and labor mix; employee development; mentoring; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant technical matters requiring coordination between organizations to ensure successful task completion and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities also include horizontal integration of best practices across the organization; maintaining cognizance over technical activities; and ensuring execution of project statement of work and baselines. This manager position will focus all efforts on technical projects and assignment with the ICBM-S contract. The selected candidate will be responsible for a Systems Engineering discipline Section within the SDS Systems Engineering organization and will report directly to an SDS Systems Engineering Department Manager/Director as well as the ICBM-S Program Manager and Director for performance at both the project and task level. The successful candidate will be experienced in systems engineering with one or more of the following specific skills in Systems Engineering execution and adaptable for manager level leadership. As a Section Manager you will be expected to spend roughly 20% of your effort on Functional Homeroom responsibilities with 80% of your efforts focused on a technical assignment on an SDS project or IPT (80% technical scope not a part of the requisition). The successful candidate will be experienced in systems engineering with one or more of the following specific skills: Model Based Systems Engineering (Cameo), Requirements Management (DOORS), Verification Planning, and Interface definition and planning.
