IBM z/OS Migration Consultant-IMU/EZT
About The Position
CTG is seeking to fill an IBM z/OS Migration Consultant – IMU/EZT position for our client. This is an ongoing contract role that is fully remote. The consultant will lead and support Easytrieve Plus (EZT) to COBOL migration projects using IBM Migration Utility (IMU). Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting IMU on IBM z/OS systems, analyzing, converting, and validating Easytrieve Plus applications to COBOL, and providing technical support for IMU-related issues. The role also involves assisting clients with conversion errors, conducting IMU training, collaborating with IBM and client teams, and documenting migration processes.
Requirements
- IBM z/OS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and JCL.
- IBM Migration Utility (IMU) and conversion methods.
- Easytrieve Plus (EZT).
- COBOL.
- DB2 and/or IMS environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem determination skills.
- Excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
- Microsoft Word and standard presentation tools.
- Strong application development or system programming background.
- Proven installation and migration experience on IBM z/OS.
- Hands-on experience with IBM Migration Utility (IMU).
- Experience converting Easytrieve Plus applications to COBOL.
- Experience conducting technical training and knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, IBM teams, and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
Responsibilities
