About The Position

Wepoint is seeking an IBM MQ/Rabbit MQ Administrator to join their team. This role involves the design, installation, and configuration of IBM MQ and/or Rabbit MQ, deploying enterprise applications, and providing second or third-level support to applications and developers. The administrator will be responsible for documenting, tracking, and resolving issues, monitoring recurring problems, and suggesting long-term solutions. They will also participate in and potentially lead projects for implementing or enhancing development services and automated solutions, collaborating with business and IT teams to develop cost-effective, operationally supportable solutions. The role requires recommending and designing new technologies and solutions, delivering assignments within specified timeframes, and evaluating new technologies to solve business requirements.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of experience with IBM MQ in design, installation, version upgrades (fixpacks), migration, and configuration.
  • Troubleshooting skills for middleware platforms.
  • Installation, configuration, and upgrades of middleware platforms.
  • Analytical and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English. English is required, as the position involves communicating with clients located outside Quebec.
  • Only candidates legally authorized to work for any employer in Canada will be considered.

  • Python programming skills an asset.
  • Knowledge of microservices development, an asset.
  • Experience in high-frequency trading environments, an asset.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, etc.), an asset.
  • Design and architecture on middleware platforms, an asset.
  • Exposure to cloud computing practices, an asset.
  • Experience with tools/platforms such as JIRA, Jenkins, Docker, Elasticsearch, and AWS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of REST API development, an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Design and installation of IBM MQ and/or Rabbit MQ, deploying enterprise applications, installation, and configuration.
  • Provide second or third level support to application and developers.
  • Undertake documentation, tracking and resolution of issues, monitor recurring issues and suggest long term solutions for such issues.
  • Participate in and potentially lead projects to implement or enhance development services and automated solutions.
  • Work closely with the business and IT to develop cost effective, operationally supportable solutions that meet complex requirements.
  • Recommend and design new technologies and solutions, including hardware and software, and provide documentation for projects.
  • Deliver assignments within specified time frames and adhere to all established standards and guidelines.
  • Evaluate new technologies to solve business requirements.
