About The Position

IMP Solutions, a division of IMP Group Limited, provides IT products and IT and business consulting services to clients across Canada. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated I.T. Administrator to join our Managed Services team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing, high-performing team that is committed to service excellence and passionate about delivering meaningful solutions for our clients. The I.T. Administrator plays a key role in supporting and maintaining client IT environments across server, network, and cloud platforms. This role acts as an escalation point for front-line support while ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and performing optimally. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in back-office or Service Desk support
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network environments
  • Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work professionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Customer-focused, patient, approachable, and adaptable

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by taking ownership of monitoring alerts and reported end-user issues
  • Contact customers upon ticket reception to validate issue priority, schedule service, and provide ongoing updates
  • Accurately document, categorize, and update all incidents and service requests within the ticketing system
  • Serve as an escalation point for front-line technical support, providing guidance and assistance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
  • Perform server administration including Active Directory, Group Policy, RDS, patching, ESX, Hyper-V, DHCP, DNS, and backups
  • Administer and support network infrastructure including firewalls, routing, switching, and performance troubleshooting
