About The Position

This role supports the plant's Instrumentation & Electrical system preventative maintenance programs for all production equipment, including calibration. The technician will assist plant operations, engineers, and maintenance team members with tasks and troubleshooting related to equipment reliability and performance improvements. They will collaborate with Production Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve production issues and minimize downtime. The position involves performing preventative maintenance, calibrating, testing, inspecting, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic devices such as PLCs, transmitters, and controllers. Responsibilities also include diagnosing and repairing electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls, managing computer-driven control systems and related devices, and installing, configuring, and maintaining variable frequency drives. The technician will evaluate the performance and reliability of prototype and actual equipment during production, perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and major equipment repairs, and assist in the design, engineering, and procurement of electrical equipment and instrumentation systems. Additionally, they will assist in writing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and must follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Technical School training or certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ instrumentation and electrical experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70e.
  • Ability to use calibration, electrical, infrared, and ultrasonic testing equipment.
  • Strong equipment / process technical knowledge.
  • Experienced with Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley, FactoryTalk) including ability to interpret function block, structured text, and ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of Micro Motion Pro-Link Transmitter Configuration, Rockwell Automation Executive, and CCW (Connected Components Workbench). (Millington and Rock Hill locations only).
  • Knowledge of DeltaV DCS preferred in Hubbell.
  • Knowledge of Factory Talk software including minor programing changes and RSLogix 5000.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Able to attend training classes to keep current and new technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to perform mathematical equations necessary for position's essential duties.
  • Must be able to work within a team group environment to perform maintenance task.
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics and ladder logic.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Chemical manufacturing industry experience.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
