The position of I&E Technician is responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting instrumentation and electrical systems. This role involves installing, maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on all field instrumentation, control systems, analyzers, and electrical equipment. The technician will be responsible for the prompt and accurate diagnosis of minor problems and the implementation of corrective actions, consulting directly with equipment vendors for resolution as necessary. The role also includes coordinating and conducting well maintenance activities for new installs/upgrades and recurring problems, as well as maintenance on end devices, including pre-programming of transmitters and ensuring data accuracy on measurement meters. In-depth failure analysis on repeat equipment failures, implementing designs for wells within automation standards, and providing automation support during all outages are key aspects of this position. The technician will work off an assigned schedule, maintain zero out-of-compliance work orders, provide analytical support on problem wells, and offer input on new technologies. Assistance to other technicians during storm outages and general PM work such as testing end devices, temperature shutdowns, pressure switches, and level shutdowns are also expected. Evaluation tests on valves, motors, instruments, and knowledge of RTUs, digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshooting are essential. Proficiency in troubleshooting using loop drawings, schematics, ladder logic, electrical one-line, and P&I drawings, as well as maintaining process control loops, electronic controls, valves, and transmitters, is required.
