About The Position

Turner Industries Group is seeking an I&E technician for maintenance at Ineos Styrolutions located in Texas City, TX. This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week, requiring availability for callouts and overtime as needed. Per diem and relocation are not available, so candidates must be current residents in or near the Texas City area. The role involves conducting calibration of instrumentation (electronic and pneumatic, field and control room) and installation of instrument loops. Responsibilities include receiving, inventorying, and cataloging instruments for calibration, setting up calibration and loop files, checking instrument loop installations, coordinating and running loop checks (including computer integration), maintaining installation and completion records, keeping loop drawings updated, installing air and control tubing runs, working during start-up phases following procedures, inspecting meters and indicators for abnormalities, testing instrument accuracy, removing and repairing defective instruments, and lubricating instruments. The technician will also replace defective wiring and tubing.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of experience
  • Must be knowledgeable of steam trace tubing
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and safety council

Nice To Haves

  • Instrumentation Degree or NCCER Certification highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts calibration of instrumentation both electronic and pneumatic, field and control room, and installation of instrument loops.
  • Receives, inventories and catalogs instruments for calibration according to construction schedule.
  • Sets up calibration and loop files.
  • Checks on installation of instrument loops.
  • Coordinates and runs (or assists) in loop checks, to include checkout with computer as required.
  • Maintains installation and completion records.
  • Keeps loop drawings, installs air tubing and control tubing runs.
  • Works start up following start up procedures.
  • Inspects meters, indicators and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations.
  • Test accuracy of flow meters' pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, radiation counters or detectors and other recording, indicating or controlling instruments to locate defective components in the system.
  • Removes defective instruments from system and decontaminates, disassembles and cleans instruments and replaces defective parts.
  • Lubricates instruments and replaces defective wiring and tubing.
  • Keeps loop drawings, installs air tubing and control tubing runs, works start up following start up procedures.
