I&E Technician - Houston, TX
About The Position
Turner Industries Group is seeking I&E technicians for upcoming outage work in the Houston, TX area. Per diem and relocation are not available for this position; successful candidates must be current residents in/near the area. The role involves conducting calibration of instrumentation both electronic and pneumatic, field and control room, and installation of instrument loops. The technician will receive, inventory, and catalog instruments for calibration, set up calibration and loop files, check instrument loop installations, coordinate and run loop checks (including computer integration), maintain installation and completion records, keep loop drawings updated, install air and control tubing runs, work during start-up following procedures, inspect meters and gauges for abnormal fluctuations, test instrument accuracy, remove and repair defective instruments, lubricate instruments, and replace defective wiring and tubing.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience
- Knowledgeable of steam trace tubing
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and safety council
Nice To Haves
- Instrumentation Degree or NCCER Certification highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Conducts calibration of instrumentation both electronic and pneumatic, field and control room
- Installation of instrument loops
- Receives, inventories and catalogs instruments for calibration according to construction schedule
- Sets up calibration and loop files
- Checks on installation of instrument loops
- Coordinates and runs (or assists) in loop checks, to include checkout with computer as required
- Maintains installation and completion records
- Keeps loop drawings
- Installs air tubing and control tubing runs
- Works start up following start up procedures
- Inspects meters, indicators and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations
- Test accuracy of flow meters' pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, radiation counters or detectors and other recording, indicating or controlling instruments to locate defective components in the system
- Removes defective instruments from system and decontaminates, disassembles and cleans instruments and replaces defective parts
- Lubricates instruments and replaces defective wiring and tubing
