The incumbent will perform work incorporating strict adherence to safety procedures and best practices, and continually observe for safe working practices. They will regularly develop and present safety topics, and develop an understanding of HPI tools through training and practice. The role involves actively participating in Pre/Post Job briefs and working with other technicians to perform routine and emergency maintenance and/or compliance activities on the plant instrumentation and control systems, including weekends, holidays, and scheduled shifts. This includes covering unit start-up and shut-down activities with assistance from other technicians. The technician will calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain power plant instrumentation systems and equipment, learn to enter WRs and PRs into Maximo, and assist in the design and implementation of O&M and Capital projects. They will also learn to communicate LOTO requests to Operations and maintain a good working relationship with Operations, Electrical, Purchasing, Warehouse personnel, other support groups, and vendors. The role requires successful delivery of results through thorough and detailed completion of job responsibilities, taking pride in this completion. The incumbent must communicate any unusual or out-of-the-ordinary equipment conditions or issues that may hinder normal operation or cause budget-impacting costs to the Supervisor and assist the on-call technician during call-outs.
