About The Position

This position is responsible for monitoring and documenting system performance onsite, providing training and guidance to customer technicians on system recovery, and documenting unresolved issues for senior technicians. The role involves providing oversight to customers to ensure their readiness for system support handover after the HyperCare phase and assisting the HyperCare lead in documenting readiness and gaps on a customer scorecard. The technician will work closely with the full-time On-site Senior Technician to troubleshoot and resolve AGV system issues. The position requires travel to customer locations for 12 consecutive days onsite, with a work schedule from Monday of week 1 to Friday EOD of week 2, including the middle weekend. Support may be required for second or third shifts. Following the 12-day onsite support, the position includes 40 business hours of remote support for documentation, preparation for upcoming projects, and assisting the Customer Care team. The incumbent must stay current with JBT Automated Systems offerings and possess strong prioritization skills to manage numerous, often conflicting, daily support requirements. The role demands the ability to respond to emergency situations with potential for frequent schedule changes and requires self-management of daily activities, reporting locally to the HyperCare lead.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.S.) in Electronics Technology or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Three to five years experience and in-depth technical knowledge of AGV product lines.
  • Familiarity with electronic diagnostic and repair tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron and basic electronics hand-tools.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, SQL, and Syteline or a comparable MRP business system.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and document the performance of systems while onsite
  • Provide training and guidance to onsite customer AGV techs on how to recover systems, and assist in recovering the systems based on errors received
  • Document issues that cannot be resolved for Senior field tech onsite during business hours
  • Provide oversight of the customer on shift to determine their readiness to take over system support once the agreed upon HyperCare phase has been completed
  • Assist HyperCare lead in documenting readiness and gaps on customer scorecard
  • Work closely with the full-time On-site Senior Technician to assist in troubleshooting and resolving AGV system issues.
  • Stay current with the latest designs, features and equipment that JBT Automated Systems offers.
  • Respond to emergency situations which may require frequent schedule changes/adjustments based on the customer’s needs with minimal time to prepare.
  • Self-manage his/her day-to-day activities.
