About The Position
Family Gentle Dentists in Woodhaven, Michigan is hiring a full-time Hygiene Assistant. The assistant collaborates with the practice team to provide clinical support, prepare patients for treatment, assist the hygienist or dentist with restorative procedures, and help maintain efficient, high-quality patient care. The practice emphasizes empathy, patient education, teamwork, and an inclusive workplace. Its practices are independently owned and operated by licensed dentists and receive non-clinical business support from North American Dental Group.
Requirements
- Dental assisting certification or prior on-the-job training.
- Radiography/X-ray certification applicable to the state.
- Current CPR certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commitment to exceptional service and patient education.
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- One to five years of experience is preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, seat patients, and document patient visits in support of the dental hygienist.
- Record and review patients’ health histories and make chart entries under the direction of the doctor or hygienist.
- Ensure required forms and signatures are completed.
- Educate patients about their treatment plans and maintaining oral health.
- Build positive relationships with patients and team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate professionally, orally and in writing, with a service-oriented approach.
