About The Position

GEDC is seeking a dedicated and motivated Dental Hygiene Assistant to join its dental practice. The assistant works closely with the dental hygienist to provide patient care and support an efficient dental hygiene process. The role includes preparing treatment rooms, assisting with dental procedures, maintaining sterilization protocols, educating patients about oral hygiene, managing records and appointments, and performing basic administrative tasks. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a sterile environment.

Nice To Haves

• Additional certification as a Dental Assistant is a plus.
• X-ray certification may be required based on state requirements.
• Proven experience as a Dental Hygiene Assistant or Dental Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
• Assist the dental hygienist during oral exams, teeth cleanings, and other dental procedures.
• Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dental hygienist or dentist.
• Maintain and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide post-treatment instructions.
• Manage patient records and accurately update dental charts.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments while ensuring a seamless patient experience.
• Perform basic administrative tasks, such as answering phones and managing patient paperwork.
