About The Position

Dental Care of Michigan in Warren, Michigan is hiring a full-time Hygiene Assistant. The assistant collaborates with the practice team to provide clinical support, prepare patients for treatment, assist the hygienist or dentist with restorative procedures, and help maintain a high standard of care and efficiency. The practice emphasizes empathetic patient care, teamwork, and patient education. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. The practice is independently owned and operated by licensed dentists and receives non-clinical business support from North American Dental Group.

Requirements

Dental assisting certification or prior on-the-job training.
Radiography/X-ray certification as required by the state.
Current CPR certification.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to exceptional service and patient education.
Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.

Nice To Haves

1–5 years of experience is preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

Assist the dental hygienist with preparing the room, seating patients, and documenting patient visits.
Record and review patients’ health histories and make chart entries under the direction of the doctor or hygienist.
Ensure all necessary forms and signatures are completed.
Educate patients about their treatment plans and maintaining oral health.
Build positive relationships with patients and team members in a fast-paced environment.
Communicate professionally, orally and in writing, with a service-oriented approach.
Assist the hygienist or dentist with restorative procedures.
