About The Position

The Hygiene Assistant supports the dental hygienist in providing excellent patient care and helping transform the dental experience. The role involves preparing treatment rooms, seating patients, documenting visits, reviewing health histories, and helping patients understand their treatment plans and maintain their oral health. The assistant works closely with the dental team in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Requirements

• Dental assisting certification, state-required education, or prior on-the-job training.
• One or more years of experience.
• Radiography/X-ray certification for the respective state.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education to patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dental hygienist with preparing the room and seating patients.
• Document patient visits and review patients’ health histories.
• Make chart entries under the direction of the Doctor or hygienist and ensure required forms and signatures are completed.
• Educate patients about their treatment plans and maintaining their oral health.
• Build positive relationships with team members and patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate professionally, both orally and in writing, with a service-oriented approach.
