About The Position

Espire is seeking a part-time Hygiene Assistant to support dental hygienists and the broader dental team in providing patient care. The role includes assisting with patient care, preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment, educating patients on oral hygiene, and providing chairside assistance to the dentist as needed. The assistant also helps keep the operatory organized and supports scheduling, phone coverage, greeting patients, and front desk duties. The schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Requirements

• Passion for dental work.
• Familiarity with dental equipment and instruments.
• Experience using digital technology and electronic medical records.
• Willingness to build trusting relationships with team members and patients.
• Willingness and ability to participate in training, which may include travel.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Cerec, 3Shape, and intraoral scanning.
• Experience with sedation and dental implant placement and restoration.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dental hygienist with all aspects of patient care.
• Take and record medical and dental histories.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Perform coronal polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealant applications.
• Take and develop radiographs if certified.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene best practices.
• Provide chairside assistance to the dentist as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized operatory.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Answer phones and greet patients as needed.
• Assist with front desk duties as needed.
