About The Position

Badger is seeking a Hydrovac Operator to perform safe, precise excavation using hydrovac equipment and to support construction and infrastructure projects. The role involves using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to uncover utilities and working in a variety of environments, including confined spaces. Operators also drive hydrovac trucks, conduct equipment inspections and minor repairs, prepare safe work areas, attend safety meetings, and complete required paperwork. The position pays $30.00 per hour and up, with opportunities for career advancement and pay increases. Travel of up to 25% and variable shifts with extended hours are required. Personal protective equipment is provided, and candidates undergo a physical examination and pre-employment screening, including a driver's abstract review and drug and alcohol test.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL.
• Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 50+ pounds and physical stamina for manual labor in varying weather conditions.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Customer-service focus and comfort interacting with customers.
• Enthusiasm for working as part of a safety-focused, collaborative team.
• Technology adeptness.
• Ability to complete a physical examination and pre-employment screenings, including a driver's abstract review and drug and alcohol test.

Nice To Haves

• CPR/First Aid, Fall Protection, and OSHA 10 certifications.
• Experience driving a manual transmission (10–18 speed) without automatic restrictions.
• Prior hydrovac equipment operation or related industrial experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydrovac equipment and perform hydrovac duties in varied work environments, including confined spaces.
• Drive hydrovac trucks, approximately 10–15% of total work time.
• Attend safety meetings.
• Perform routine inspections and minor repairs of hydrovac equipment.
• Prepare work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards.
• Accurately and efficiently document and report required Badger, Federal, State, and Customer paperwork.
