About The Position

Badger is hiring a Hydrovac Operator to perform safe, precise excavation using high-pressure water and vacuum systems. The operator uncovers utilities and supports construction and infrastructure projects in a variety of work environments, including confined spaces. The position involves operating and inspecting hydrovac equipment, driving hydrovac trucks, preparing safe work areas, attending safety meetings, and completing required documentation. The role pays $30.00 per hour and up based on experience, with opportunities for pay increases and career advancement. Variable shifts and extended hours may be required, and travel may be up to 25%.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull more than 50 pounds and perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Customer-service focus and comfort interacting with customers.
• Enthusiasm for working as part of a safety-focused, collaborative team.
• Technology adeptness.
• Ability to undergo a physical examination and pre-employment screenings, including a driver's abstract review and drug and alcohol test.

Nice To Haves

• CPR/First Aid, Fall Protection, and OSHA 10 certifications.
• Experience driving a manual transmission (10–18 speed) without automatic restrictions.
• Prior hydrovac equipment operation or related industrial experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydrovac equipment and perform hydrovac duties in various work environments, including confined spaces.
• Drive hydrovac trucks, accounting for approximately 10–15% of total work time.
• Attend safety meetings.
• Perform routine inspections and minor repairs of hydrovac equipment.
• Prepare work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards.
• Accurately and efficiently complete and report Badger, Federal, State, and customer paperwork.
