Requirements
- Experience with manual machining and welding processes.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic cylinder construction and repair.
- Ability to read technical drawings and apply precise measurements.
- Basic computer skills to utilize Caterpillar SIS 2.0 (Parts and technical information) and company-related systems
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Caterpillar and OEM specifications is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate manual lathes and milling machines to fabricate and repair hydraulic components.
- Perform welding and fabrication of cylinder rods and barrels.
- Use precision measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Disassemble and inspect components for repair or reusability.
- Prepare surfaces for machining and welding through polishing, honing, and cleaning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and measurements taken.
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment.
- Secure all equipment and complete required paperwork at the end of shift.
- Perform general housekeeping duties and maintain a safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
