About The Position
Responsible for performing various assembly, machining and blending operations in accordance with WGPW established methods and practices.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent plus Three years of related machine shop experience.
- Previous experience in the use of hand tools, air tools and riveting equipment and processes.
- Experience with precision measuring equipment.
- Experience in operation of milling and surface grinding machines
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the overhaul and repair of aviation components is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Operation of Bridgeport
- Operation of surface grinder
- Disassembly, rework and assembly of aerospace components
- Cleaning parts by hand using brushes, scotch brite, wire wheels, varsol and other various cleaning solvents and abrasive blast methods.
- Removing broken bolts and hardware.
- Chasing threads and installing heli coils or threaded inserts as required.
- Modification work such as blending, deburring and polishing.
- Removing and replacing airseals, nut plates, helicoils and other miscellaneous hardware using associated equipment.
- Use and interpretation of appropriate technical data, including but not limited to travelers, blue prints and other technical data as provided.
- Performs tooling repair in support of the engine shop
- Maintains a safe and clean work area and adheres to all housekeeping requirements. Follows all safety procedures and rules and properly wears all safety protective equipment as required.
