About The Position

The Hydraulic/Pneumatic Technician makes and installs hydraulic and pneumatic hose assemblies, bends and shapes sheet metal, and performs light fabrication, including welding and burning. The role may also be filled by a student pipefitter with less experience. Students participate in a two-year step-rate program to gain journeyman status.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics as they apply to machinery and heavy equipment.
• Ability to read hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
• Familiarity with hose crimpers, tube benders, flaring machines, and pipe-threading machines.
• Ability to diagnose, replace, and repair equipment and components.
• Ability to interpret drawings and fabricate components.
• Familiarity with repair-shop equipment and tools.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently with other craft employees.

Nice To Haves

• Journeyman status is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete other activities and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
