About The Position

This role involves preparing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using various models, conducting studies, and managing FEMA permitting. The engineer will research jurisdictional drainage requirements, oversee the production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD, and perform data management using ArcGIS and QGIS. The position requires working collaboratively within a multi-discipline team, mentoring junior staff, conducting site visits, and preparing presentation materials. Key responsibilities include adhering to business processes and quality management systems, ensuring project quality control, maintaining up-to-date job knowledge, and contributing to successful project delivery on time and within budget. The role also involves project planning, staff assignment, and performance review to ensure project profitability, schedule adherence, quality, and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Professional Licensed PE required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
  • Minimum 5 years’ drainage engineering.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and Communication Skills.
  • Works well in a Team Environment.
  • Thorough attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques.
  • Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D, HEC-HMS, and FLO-2D.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in ArcGIS and QGIS.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using a wide range of models, including HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D, HEC-HMS, and FLO-2D.
  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting.
  • Research jurisdictional drainage requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings.
  • Oversee production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Perform data management and prepare exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Work as a member of a multi-discipline team.
  • Mentor EIT staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice.
  • Conduct site visits and document findings.
  • Write and coordinate preparation of graphic materials for presentations and documents.
  • Understands, follows, and enforces our business process.
  • Productively collaborates with PMs and encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other.
  • Understands and follows QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures that quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.

  • Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client).
