  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within the required timeframe.
  • Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, or equivalent tools.
  • Working knowledge of fluid mechanics, hydrology, stormwater management, and water resource engineering principles.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or related engineering design software.
  • Ability to interpret and apply USACE engineering manuals, technical guidance, and federal design standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong hydraulic and hydrologic modeling capabilities with experience using industry-standard software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, or similar tools to analyze water flow, stormwater systems, and flood risk conditions.
  • A solid understanding of water resources engineering, fluid mechanics, drainage systems, and floodplain management is essential for developing effective and compliant engineering solutions.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related engineering design software is required to produce accurate technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
  • The candidate should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate complex hydraulic systems and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for preparing technical reports, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including USACE engineering standards and environmental compliance procedures, is highly desirable.
  • Effective organizational and project coordination skills to support project scheduling, quality control, budgeting, and timely delivery of contract requirements within a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience supporting USACE, FEMA, EPA, or other federal infrastructure and water resource projects.
  • Experience with flood risk management, levee systems, drainage infrastructure, dam safety, or water distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications for hydraulic analysis and mapping.
  • Knowledge of NEPA compliance, environmental permitting, and sustainability practices related to water resources projects.
  • Experience supporting large-scale civil works or military infrastructure projects.
  • Project management experience or certification supporting federal engineering programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for flood control systems, drainage networks, stormwater infrastructure, levees, pipelines, pump stations, and related water resource facilities.
  • Develop and evaluate hydraulic models using HEC-RAS, SWMM, HEC-HMS, and other approved engineering software.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design documentation, specifications, and construction support documents in compliance with USACE standards.
  • Support planning, design, and rehabilitation of civil infrastructure and water resource systems under the READI contract.
  • Conduct field investigations, inspections, and condition assessments of existing hydraulic infrastructure and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
