About The Position

PIRTEK is hiring a Hydraulic Hose Service & Sales Technician to service, assemble, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses for a diverse customer base in varying environmental conditions. The role involves manual labor, messy substances, and participation in an on-call schedule. Hydraulic and industrial hose experience is not required. Training opportunities may be provided at the franchise owner’s discretion in industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes, safety standards, and operation of the purpose-built mobile service unit. Technicians also have access to a 24/7 hotline for expert troubleshooting support. The Technician operates from a PIRTEK Service & Supply Center in a purpose-built mobile service unit outfitted with tools and machinery for servicing the local area. Service locations vary in terrain, noise, temperature, and available amenities. Oil, grease, lubricants, and other messy substances are frequently used. Travel for training may be required at no cost to the employee.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, and/or stoop for moderate to extended periods.
Ability to safely use ladders, step-ups, and stairs.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and specialized equipment consistently.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to navigate customer objections, identify needs, and execute sales.
Self-motivation and a positive attitude through difficult jobs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely and lawfully drive a large work van.

Nice To Haves

Experience in industrial development and construction, automobile, marine, or field mechanics, or a related industry.
Hydraulic and industrial hose experience is not required; training opportunities may be provided.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all industry and PIRTEK safety standards.
Carry out service calls and sales visits in the local area.
Identify faulty hoses and hose assemblies to meet customer needs.
Remove worn or broken hoses, then fabricate and install replacements.
Clean or contain oil spills and environmental contaminants caused by hose failures or repairs, to customer satisfaction and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Enter service details into the online database to create accurate invoices.
Develop relationships with new and existing customers.
Maintain the mobile service unit, tools, and equipment.
Resolve on-site issues and conduct frequent follow-up visits to ensure customer satisfaction.
Participate in the rotating on-call schedule.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
