The Hybrid Electric Vehicle Calibration Engineer leads calibration development for assigned functional items in the Electric Vehicle Control Unit (EVCU), from initial dynamometer testing through early mule vehicle development and production for next-generation xHEV propulsion systems. The role covers application and optimization of control systems for production. The engineer documents and justifies EVCU calibration changes through development and test plans, and presents changes to the lead calibrator and senior management as appropriate. The engineer participates in or leads the Center of Excellence (CoE) team for their functional areas, reviews new calibrations, and works with calibrators and controls engineers to verify initial calibration values through software change request reviews at each new software release. The role coordinates calibration merges with other functional leads and carries production-release responsibility for EVCU software and calibrations. The engineer supports dynamometer commissioning and first-run activities, works with the EVCU controls team to ensure features operate effectively, trains new calibration engineers and others on ePT vehicle and control operation, and supports development trips and reporting to senior management. They collaborate with CoE teams to follow best practices and serve as the lead contact for system issues in their functional area. A collaborative, team-oriented approach is expected.
