About The Position

We are searching for a result-oriented Inside Sales and Estimating Specialist to join the Hollister-Whitney team. The role will be instrumental in supporting Hollister-Whitney and will directly impact speed-to-quote, order conversion, and customer adoption. Through its brands, Vantage supplies almost all electro-mechanical devices used in contemporary elevators. The Vantage group employs over 900 staff in multiple locations across the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom. The Inside Sales & Estimating Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate, timely quotations for Hollister-Whitney elevator equipment by reviewing project specifications, interpreting construction documents, configuring products, and determining equipment required to meet customer and code requirements. This role serves as the technical estimating resource for customers, distributors, consultants, and the sales team. The successful candidate will analyze project requirements, identify engineering and manufacturing considerations, and prepare detailed machine estimates that support speed-to-quote, order conversion, and customer satisfaction. Once accepted by the customer, estimates are converted into orders and transitioned to the Application Engineering team for design and manufacturing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience preparing estimates or quotations for manufactured, engineered, industrial, or construction-related products.
  • Experience interpreting customer specifications, blueprints, construction documents, or engineering drawings.
  • Experience working in inside sales, estimating, applications engineering, or technical customer support.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using ERP systems, product configurators, or estimating software.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of construction products, engineered equipment, or elevator products preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and priorities while meeting deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction products, engineered equipment, or elevator products preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate quotations and estimates for elevator machines and related equipment based on customer specifications, project requirements, and applicable codes.
  • Review architectural drawings, bid documents, specifications, and customer requirements to determine the appropriate equipment configuration.
  • Analyze project documents and identify engineering, manufacturing, and customization requirements necessary to produce an accurate quotation.
  • Contact customers, consultants, contractors, and sales representatives to clarify specifications or obtain missing information required to complete estimates.
  • Utilize product configuration software and internal pricing tools to develop complete quotations.
  • Research optional equipment, special engineering requirements, and custom applications.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure estimates are technically accurate and manufacturable.
  • Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within established turnaround times to support customer expectations and business objectives.
  • Convert accepted estimates into customer orders and coordinate the transition to the Application Engineering team.
  • Develop expertise across all Hollister-Whitney product lines to provide technical guidance and product recommendations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers by providing responsive, professional technical support throughout the estimating process.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quote accuracy, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
