HW Engineer, DPD

Nokia•Dallas, TX
•$89,000 - $130,000

About The Position

Nokia is seeking a HW Engineer to join its Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) team in Dallas. The role focuses on developing accurate, wide-bandwidth DPD algorithms and optimizing performance across varying signal excitations. The engineer will facilitate collaboration between DPD and hardware design teams and contribute to the performance and robustness of Nokia radio products. The position combines algorithm development, radio hardware analysis, DPD software implementation, and testing. It involves working with DFE, AFE, and feedback-path requirements; developing knowledge of DFE architecture; selecting suitable DPD engines for individual products; and supporting troubleshooting across the radio product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Advanced expertise in nonlinear-system modeling and graduate-level digital signal processing.
  • Proficiency in numerical linear algebra, RF power amplifier design, and RF circuits and systems.
  • Understanding of modern wireless communication systems, 3GPP, and FCC standards.
  • Experience in FPGA or ASIC design and programming.
  • Programming skills in Matlab, Python, and C++; familiarity with Git for version control.
  • Strong data analysis and visualization abilities, including interpreting complex data.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience in hardware development or a related field, focused on radio products.
  • A track record of successful hardware design and implementation, preferably in a dynamic R&D environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.

Responsibilities
