About The Position

Western Nevada College is recruiting for a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Specialist 1. This individual would perform journey-level skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment, including water treatment. When required, this position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the utility plant during the incumbent’s shift. The operation consists of monitoring high temperature water, boilers and related equipment. The position is based out of the Carson City campus but travel to the other campuses is required.

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized HVACR apprenticeship program; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
  • An Environmental Protection Agency Refrigerant Certification.
  • An OSHA 10 certification is required within one year of employment.
  • Must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
