About The Position

This is a mechanical HVAC service and repair position. Johnson Controls provides the tools needed to perform the job. The role provides customers with service to address building inefficiencies and resolve service-related issues, offering recommendations and solutions at the time of service. Probationary employees perform mechanical equipment service and other work covered by the labor agreement as assigned by the employer, within their capabilities and under the employer’s direction. The role includes troubleshooting and maintaining equipment, resolving equipment issues, responding to basic service calls, communicating job progress and issues to Johnson Controls, contractors, and customers, and recommending solutions—including upselling opportunities—with supporting quotes. This is a bargaining unit position.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in an HVAC certificate program.
Familiarity with residential or light commercial HVAC equipment.
Ability to perform general building maintenance.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Current driver’s license.
Willingness to supplement on-the-job training.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with HVAC-related applications and Microsoft Office, such as Word and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

EPA Refrigeration certification.

Responsibilities
