About The Position

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Technicians to join their North American HVAC business. The company is committed to employee and customer health and safety. Requirements

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of practical working experience on Residential and/or ducted products, air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, AHU’s or Roof Top ducted units with strong HVAC/ mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to travel 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers startup and commissioning activities as well as aftermarket service trouble shooting.
  • Ability to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
  • Attention to detail through interpersonal, digital, and written skills.
  • Self-starter with a passion/ desire to learn and apply on the job.
  • Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including identifying upselling opportunities.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
  • Be responsible for startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and aftermarket services for the HVAC business.
  • Repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chiller system components.
  • Enroll in training programs and JCI’s Service Technical Academy (STA) to gain knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting.
  • Work collaboratively with other local market mechanics.
  • Write and communicate to customers regarding problems, causes, and corrective actions.
  • Provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
  • Prioritize safety in all forms.
