The HVAC Tradesman is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. This position ensures compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards while maintaining optimal system performance. This role will perform installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshoot system issues, and respond to emergency situations involving equipment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of combined HVAC training/education and hands-on work experience in HVAC service or installation in commercial or residential settings
  • EPA refrigerant certification (universal preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, computers (preferred), diagnostic and testing equipment
  • Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting, brazing and soldering
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a drug screen
  • Must possess a valid drivers license
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check and meet P1 Service qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC Certification program or Associate's Degree in the trades
  • AC/refrigeration service experience
  • Trade school or secondary school
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience with HVAC troubleshooting
  • Experience reading wiring diagrams
  • Being a current member of Pipefitters Local Union #533 is a plus, however is NOT required. If not a current member of this local union, the must meet union eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Installing new HVAC systems
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance tasks
  • Diagnosing system errors, identifying the root cause, and performing necessary repairs or replacements of defective parts
  • Follow P1 safety protocols when working with equipment and in various work environments
