About The Position

We have an immediate opening for a HVAC Technician. The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures optimal environmental conditions for production operations, equipment performance, employee comfort, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The HVAC Technician works closely with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and maintain reliable facility operations while adhering to all plant safety standards and procedures. This position works a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of HVAC maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial environment.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, electrical controls, motors, compressors, refrigeration cycles, and industrial safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Experience using testing and diagnostic equipment, including multimeters, pressure gauges, and airflow measurement devices.
  • Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Understanding of Lockout/Tagout procedures and safe work practices.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot, cold, humid, and dusty manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to distinguish colors for wiring and control systems work.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school certification or Associate Degree in HVAC, Refrigeration, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • Journeyman HVAC License or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled HVAC equipment and automated building systems.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, air handling, ventilation, and climate control systems.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC system malfunctions, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic components.
  • Install, modify, and upgrade HVAC equipment and related controls as required.
  • Monitor and maintain temperature, humidity, and air quality standards in manufacturing and warehouse environments.
  • Troubleshoot and repair chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, rooftop units, exhaust systems, and building automation systems.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize production interruptions.
  • Inspect facility HVAC systems and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, local building codes, company safety policies, and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
  • Assist with energy management initiatives and sustainability programs.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized services are required.
  • Support general facility maintenance activities as needed.
  • Participate in facility emergency response efforts as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with plant standards.
  • Follow all plant safety procedures, policies, and guidelines.
  • Wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Understand and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing, maintaining, or repairing equipment.
  • Know emergency response procedures and appropriate actions in the event of power outages, equipment failures, workplace injuries, chemical releases, or other emergencies.
  • Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and proactively identify unsafe conditions.
  • Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries to the supervisor.
  • Participate in safety training programs, audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
