About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing HVAC equipment, as well as performing scheduled preventive maintenance. Duties may involve access to sensitive Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS), which requires that a thorough background check be conducted. Candidates will be subject to a criminal history check. The City of Irving’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) helps to improve the quality of life for Irving citizens through construction of facilities such as parks, trails, aquatic centers, and libraries. Additionally, CIP administers and carries out the construction of infrastructure such as streets, sidewalks, water and wastewater, drainage, and fire stations, all necessary to assure the public’s welfare.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college or vocational training in a related field
  • Two years of field experience in the HVAC service industry
  • EPA-CFC Certification
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Must not have any criminal conviction above the grade of a Class B misdemeanor or any Class B misdemeanor within the past 10 years; other convictions may also be considered.
