About The Position

The HVAC Services Field Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing daily field operations for commercial HVAC service and installation teams. This role ensures all commercial projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards, contractual requirements, and company policies. The Field Supervisor provides technical leadership, jobsite coordination, and team development while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction in commercial and industrial environments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; HVAC technical training or trade certification preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years of commercial HVAC field experience.
  • 2–3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial mechanical systems (RTUs, chillers, boilers, hydronic systems, controls, etc.).
  • EPA Certification required; additional certifications (NATE, OSHA 30) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial building codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in service management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate commercial HVAC service and installation technicians across multiple job sites.
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VRF systems, cooling towers, air handlers, and controls.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and in accordance with mechanical codes and specifications.
  • Conduct routine field inspections to verify workmanship, safety compliance, and quality standards.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex commercial systems.
  • Review blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications to ensure proper execution.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, General Contractors, and building owners to maintain strong client relationships.
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies; lead regular safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
  • Assist with manpower planning, job assignments, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor labor productivity, material usage, and project performance.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate technicians; support workforce development initiatives.
  • Address escalated customer issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of service reports, inspections, and project updates.
