About The Position
Grant Mechanical of Traverse City, Michigan, is growing! We are seeking a HVAC Retrofit Installer to service and install HVAC equipment in both residential and commercial applications. As a 24/7 emergency service facility, Grant Mechanical offers overtime opportunities and consistent year-round work. Join us and be part of a dynamic and growing team! This job involves a specialized focus on HVAC retrofits, meaning you will be primarily responsible for replacing and upgrading old heating, cooling, and ventilation systems with modern, more efficient equipment. Your work will include the installation of a wide variety of units, such as air conditioners, furnaces, and boilers, ductless systems, water heaters along with their key components like electric motors and heat pumps. You'll also handle the integration of these new systems, which includes installing related equipment like intake fans, humidifiers, and RTUs (Rooftop Units), ensuring the entire system functions as a seamless, high-performance unit.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with current HVAC equipment, including light commercial
- Hold a valid driver license.
- Maintain an insurable driving record.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Able to communicate with customers.
- Familiarity with HVAC wiring diagrams
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Ability to work in confined spaces & in all types of weather.
Responsibilities
- Service and install HVAC equipment in both residential and commercial applications.
- Replace and upgrade old heating, cooling, and ventilation systems with modern, more efficient equipment.
- Install a wide variety of units, such as air conditioners, furnaces, and boilers, ductless systems, water heaters along with their key components like electric motors and heat pumps.
- Integrate new systems, including installing related equipment like intake fans, humidifiers, and RTUs (Rooftop Units).
