HVAC Residential New Construction
About The Position
This role focuses on installing HVAC systems in residential new construction projects. Success is measured by the quality and accuracy of installations, adherence to production schedules, first-pass inspection and code compliance, reduction of callbacks, proper material usage, jobsite cleanliness, safety performance, attendance, punctuality, reliability, effective communication, and proper care of company assets. A successful technician consistently completes quality installations on schedule, proactively identifies potential problems, collaborates effectively with other trades, follows installation standards, and ensures projects are ready for subsequent construction phases with minimal rework.
Requirements
- Previous residential HVAC installation or new construction experience required.
- Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, duct systems, refrigerant piping, ventilation, and controls.
- Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, and installation specifications.
- Understanding of residential construction processes and jobsite requirements.
- Ability to use HVAC installation tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment safely.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining production expectations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally heavier equipment with assistance.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in attics, crawlspaces, mechanical rooms, and other confined areas.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and changing construction environments.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and HVAC equipment.
Nice To Haves
- EPA Section 608 certification preferred or required based on job responsibilities.
