About The Position

This position is responsible for the repair, adjustment, maintenance, and replacement of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The technician will collaborate with outside utilities on HVAC matters and respond to emergency calls. Key duties include performing visual inspections, repairing or replacing various HVAC components, maintaining pneumatic and steam systems, and managing a preventive maintenance program. The role also involves designing and installing new systems, coordinating with vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards, and managing inventory. Additionally, the technician will assist in other areas as needed, maintain confidentiality, and respond to work order requests, always prioritizing patient and family service.

Requirements

Five years HVAC experience
Refrigeration Technician License
Refrigeration Recovery License
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing or walking
Lifting pushing, pulling supplies and equipment
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching
May need to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures

Responsibilities

Respond to emergency calls
Work from written and electronic requisitions, or verbal instructions
Perform visual inspections for the detection of abnormal operation and correction of deficiencies
Repair or replace defective heating, ventilation and A/C equipment including but not limited to: Natural Gas
Maintain Pneumatic systems / valves
Maintain Heating systems including traps, valves, controls, piping and various types of heating equipment
Maintain A/C systems
Maintain Various pumps
Maintain Steam piping
Maintain Fire protection
Maintain Piping for machinery
Maintain an ongoing preventive maintenance program throughout the facility complex
Maintain a professional appearance at all times
Keep a clean, safe work area
Maintain an inventory and order stock as approved by department management
Design and install various new work and remodeling projects
Coordinate various functions with outside vendors and contractors
Coordinate shutdown of the various heating, ventilation and A/C systems with all necessary staff
Work according to Local/ State codes
Conserve resources and material
Work within OSHA Safety Standards
Assist in all other areas as needed
Maintain the confidentiality and security of all facility and patient related information (HIPPA)
Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas
Responds to Nurse Call and Work Order requests
Puts Customer Service first: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a safe, caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights
