About The Position

Performs routine and preventive maintenance, repairs, and facility support activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of university buildings and HVAC/R systems. Assists skilled trades personnel with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and related equipment, supports preventive maintenance programs, and responds to maintenance service requests. Maintains accurate records of completed work, orders necessary repair parts, manages assigned tools and equipment, and complies with all required safety, vehicle, and job-specific training. Provides dependable, customer-focused service while supporting departmental and university operational needs.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent
A valid Texas driver’s license
Three (3) years of job-related experience working in a building crafts trade.
One (1) year or more of proven experience of working with Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning or related equipment is required.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

Associates degree in HVAC/R Technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working in school facilities or similar setting is preferred.
Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System is desired.

Responsibilities

Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance.
Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
Assist craftsmen in implementing preventive maintenance to ensure that building HVAC machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
Accomplish assigned work, identify and order required repair parts, and maintain inventory of assigned tools.
Complete all required safety, vehicle and other job-specific training as directed.
