About The Position

Carmichael Engineering is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join their team. This role involves managing HVAC retrofit and construction projects from initial planning and bidding through to execution and completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading and drawing plans, estimating, designing thermal system solutions, coordinating with subcontractors, managing project schedules and costs, and ensuring client satisfaction. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across Canada and contribute to a company with over 100 years of experience in the industry.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Mechanical systems education.
  • Ability to read, draw, and provide equipment specifications.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Highly disciplined, independent, entrepreneurial, confident, well-organized self-starter.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as required.
  • Ability to travel to the interior of BC twice a month.
  • Minimal overnight travel required.
  • Team Player.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Natural Gas, Propane, and oil.

Responsibilities

  • Read and draw plans and specifications for HVAC retrofit and construction projects.
  • Bid on retrofit and construction projects in the HVAC industry for new and existing customers.
  • Estimate, design, and present thermal system solutions to prospective customers, both independently and in collaboration with the estimating team.
  • Assume project management responsibilities over work execution, providing functional leadership and technical support.
  • Order and manage deliveries for projects.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors.
  • Attend site project meetings and coordinate project schedules.
  • Track job costing and profitability.
  • Work in conjunction with the service team to maximize prospective opportunities.
  • Provide operation and maintenance manuals on projects as required.
