About The Position

Fortis College in Baton Rouge is seeking an experienced, motivated Program Director for its HVAC/R program. The role leads and manages the department using sound business principles and ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures. The Program Director teaches in the assigned discipline, works with faculty to continually improve instructional quality, and serves as the lead administrator for the department. Responsibilities also include faculty training and development, and coordinating and administering the academic program, student outcomes, and department activities. This is a full-time professional position requiring some evening and Saturday hours.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma, in addition to an associate degree.
• Expertise in interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and to work effectively and collaboratively with others.
• At least 5 years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician or Mechanic.
• At least 2 years of postsecondary-related teaching experience.
• HVAC certification.
• EPA Universal certification.
