About The Position

Fortis College in Baton Rouge is seeking an experienced, motivated Program Director to lead its HVAC/R program. This full-time professional position manages the department using sound business principles and ensures compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures. The Program Director teaches in the assigned discipline and works with faculty to continuously improve instructional quality. As the department’s lead administrator, the Program Director is responsible for faculty training and development and for coordinating and administering academic programs, student outcomes, and departmental activities. The role reports directly to the Dean/Director of Education and requires some evening and Saturday hours.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or diploma, in addition to an associate degree.
• Expertise in interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide effective direction and leadership.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others.
• At least 5 years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician/Mechanic.
• At least 2 years of prior postsecondary-related teaching experience.
• HVAC EPA Universal certification.

Responsibilities
