About The Position

EMI Services is hiring HVAC Preventative Maintenance Helpers to support mission-critical infrastructure at Camp Lejeune! Performing preventive maintenance of various types of commercial HVAC equipment to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly is the primary responsibility of the Preventive Maintenance Helper. Types of equipment include air handlers and VAV systems. You may also assist workers and journeyman by performing general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping them supplied with materials and tools; holding materials and tools; and cleaning working area, machines, or equipment. The ideal EMI HVAC Helper performs any task as instructed while following all health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades
  • Valid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain one
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Regular, dependable attendance
  • U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC refrigeration and/or systems
  • CFC License or ability to obtain CFC License (minimum Type 2) within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventive maintenance of various types of commercial HVAC equipment to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.
  • Inspecting motors, pulleys and belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or performing other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Cleaning or lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
  • Dismantling devices to access and remove defective parts.
  • Repairing or replacing parts and reassembling equipment.
  • Assisting workers and journeymen by performing general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping them supplied with materials and tools; holding materials and tools; and cleaning working area, machines, or equipment.
  • Performing any task as instructed while following all health and safety standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
