About The Position

Controlled Combustion is the leading heating contractor in NYC. We serve a variety of industries, including luxury apartments, hospitals, universities, and more. With over 150 employees, our team is as diverse as the services we offer. We’re looking for a dependable HVAC & Plumbing Warehouse Associate to support our operations by managing inventory, receiving shipments, organizing materials, and preparing orders for our technicians and project teams. This role is hands-on and detail-focused, working closely with our operations and service departments to ensure the right parts and equipment are available when needed. Please note that this position is strictly in-office. Hybrid or remote is not available for this position. Employee will be expected to commute to our Bronx office on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift, move, and organize materials safely (typical warehouse lifting requirements).
  • Comfortable using basic inventory systems, spreadsheets, and email communication.
  • Strong organizational skills—able to keep the warehouse clean, labelled, and efficient.
  • Professional communication skills and a team-first attitude.
  • Ability to handle sensitive company/vendor pricing and purchasing information with discretion.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Prior warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing materials (pipes, fittings, valves, controls, pumps, boilers, consumables, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience in heating, oil and gas, HVAC, plumbing, or construction industries a plus.
  • Forklift experience/certification.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and stock incoming HVAC and plumbing materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Pull, stage, and prepare parts and materials for jobs, service calls, and internal requests.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular counts and updates to tracking systems/spreadsheets.
  • Organize the warehouse to ensure parts are clearly labelled, safely stored, and easy to locate.
  • Track and replenish frequently used items; communicate low stock and lead times to supervisors.
  • Coordinate with office staff, purchasing, and technicians to resolve missing/incorrect items.
  • Prepare shipments and deliveries (packing, labelling, and documentation as needed).
  • Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment; follow safety procedures for lifting and storage.
  • Assist with general warehouse tasks and special projects as needed.
