About The Position
Parsons is seeking Mechanical Engineering Interns to support HVAC, plumbing, industrial piping, and industrial ventilation for federal projects in its Pasadena, California office. The internship is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the engineering design process and insight into the role of Mechanical Engineers in industry. Each intern is paired one-on-one with a mentor in the same discipline and participates in the 4D Internship Program, which includes interaction with interns from other disciplines and senior management.
Requirements
- Be pursuing a bachelor's degree (third year or above) or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection.
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Have a major GPA greater than 3.25/4.00.
- Have good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with 3D computer-aided design (CAD), such as SolidWorks, or Revit.
- Deep knowledge of heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
- Familiarity with energy modeling.
- Experience as a technician or assistant, research assistant experience, or extensive lab coursework.
Responsibilities
- Perform Revit design for mechanical systems.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses involving thermal and fluid mechanics.
- Conduct research and create engineering reports.
