About The Position

Charter Wire is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern for a summer internship in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The intern will gain hands-on experience updating plant layout drawings with AutoCAD 2026 and developing technical writing and documentation skills using Dozuki. The role supports engineering projects and process improvement trials, and includes creating and maintaining process documentation and work instructions. The full-time summer program runs for 40 hours per week, begins in May 2027, and offers meaningful project work, mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities. Internship positions are not benefits-eligible.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, with current academic standing of at least sophomore level.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Have strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Be able to succeed in a team environment.
• Be able to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering projects and coordinate process improvement trials.
• Update plant layout drawings using AutoCAD 2026.
