About The Position

Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business seeking to grow and improve. Charter Wire, a leading Tier 1 supplier and manufacturer of Engineered Shaped Wire, Cold Finished Bar, and Cold-Headed and Stamped Components, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. This internship offers hands-on experience in updating plant layout drawings using AutoCAD 2026 and developing technical writing and documentation skills using Dozuki.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Ability to succeed in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering projects and coordinate process improvement trials.
• Update plant layout drawings using AutoCAD 2026.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and work instructions using Dozuki.
