About The Position

Capital Health is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to join their Maintenance team in Trenton. This is a full-time position with varied shifts. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment in heating, cooling, and related systems. Responsibilities include performing preventive and routine maintenance, estimating material requirements, working from prints and drawings, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The position requires the safe use of hand and power tools.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year related experience.
Proficient in English.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills required.
On the job training.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots to investigate problems and performs repairs on various mechanical and electrical equipment in heating, cooling and all other related systems.
Completes preventive and routine maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
Estimates material requirements.
Uses ability to work from prints, drawings, or through verbal or written instructions.
Maintains a clean neat, safe work area.
Adjusts willingly to work schedule.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Uses hand and power tools safely.
Uses material judiciously to prevent waste and assure a cost effective operation.
Estimates accurately material requirements for assigned tasks.
Interprets prints and/or drawings to perform an assigned task or project.
Interprets accurately written and or oral instructions to perform an assigned task or project.
Boom cleans work area at the end of the job, day or when leaving the area for an extended period of time as deemed appropriate.
Maintains work area in a safe and organized manner so as to prevent accidents and/or personal injury.
Adjusts work schedule to perform work to accommodate patient, staff and other departmental needs.
Willingness to work overtime as required.
Assists willingly other members of the department in the course of their daily duties as may be necessary.
Always uses the necessary and required safety equipment when operating shop power equipment.
Uses proper PPE when using shop equipment and/or hand power tools.
Completes daily work orders as assigned with no repeat calls for lack of quality workmanship.
Manages paper work daily, notes any special findings or items needing attention on work orders timely and accurately.
Performs PM work orders as assigned in a timely manner.
Helps contribute to the departments goal of 95% monthly completion rate of PM work orders.
