The HVAC Mechanic position is responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of new and existing electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment within the facility. This role involves selecting appropriate tools and materials, shutting down electrical circuits and water flow as needed, and maintaining non-clinical electronic components such as fire alarm systems, building utilities, and various utility systems (water, steam, electrical, med gas, natural gas, compressed air). The technician will notify appropriate personnel of complex issues, affected departments of service interruptions, and operate/maintain high-pressure boilers, A/C chillers, cooling towers, and related plant equipment. They will also perform chemistry tests, ensure work is done professionally, and conduct routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. The role includes monitoring critical alarms, responding to and investigating alarms, performing repairs, contacting vendors, and communicating with the Facilities leadership team. Daily operating logs are maintained, and materials/supplies are requested as needed. The technician is responsible for keeping the work area clean, completing work request forms and activity reports, identifying major problems, initiating corrective action, and logging critical alarms and other important situations. Offsite engineers will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Roof Top Units, Air handler Units, boilers, chillers, and associated HVAC systems.
