About The Position

The HVAC Mechanic – On-Site Supervisor serves as the primary on-site authority and technical lead for all HVAC and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) operations. This position is responsible for supervision, maintenance execution, system reliability, and compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and safety requirements. When the Contract Project Manager is not onsite, this position assumes full authority to act on behalf of the Contractor, ensuring continuity of operations and direct coordination with Government representatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and Associate's Degree program in HVAC systems or and equivalent combination of education and 5 years of documented apprenticeship with one or more of the following certifications: NATE Certification, HVAC Excellence Certification, UA Star Certification
  • Minimum annually continued education of 16 hours
  • Minimum 5+ years HVAC experience with complex systems
  • EPA Universal Certification (Required)
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, BAS/DDC, and MEP systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Must obtain and maintain: Federal suitability determination, PIV Credential (HSPD-12 compliant)
  • Lift up to 50 lbs (greater with assistance)
  • Work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, confined spaces
  • Climbing, standing, bending, and kneeling required

Responsibilities

  • Supervisory of technical staff overseeing full MEP responsibilities
  • Acts with the same authority as the Contract Project Manager in his/her absence
  • Provide onsite managerial supervision for day-to-day operations
  • Serve as primary interface with Contracting Officer (CO), COR, and stakeholders in the absence of the Contract Project Manager
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair full facility MEP systems and building specific equipment register
  • Execute system start-up, shutdown, and operational testing
  • Manage and assign work through CMMS (IBM Maximo)
  • Implement system optimization and efficiency improvements
  • Perform and Oversee Preventive Maintenance (PM)
  • Implement Predictive Maintenance strategies
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history
  • Identify failure trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Enforce compliance with: OSHA standards, EPA Section 608, NEC and applicable codes, ASHRAE Standards 55, 62.1, 62.2, 90.1, 170 and other building applicable guidelines
  • Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Maintain safe working conditions at all times
  • Ensure all work meets Contractor and Government QA/QC standards IAW prescribed PWS and GSA standards
  • Perform inspections and functional testing
  • Maintain documentation for audits and compliance reviews
