As the HVAC Master Mechanic, you will install, service and repair environmental-control systems in residences, department stores, office buildings, and other commercial establishments, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout. You will mount compressor and condenser units on platforms or floors using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications. You will also fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment, and install evaporator units in chassis or in air-duct systems using hand tools. This role requires extensive knowledge in specialized functions and the ability to interpret and apply codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. You will maintain, operate, and repair refrigerated walk-ins, reach-ins, cold storage plants, and air conditioning and environmental air conditioning systems up to 580 tons. Additionally, you will be responsible for operating and adjusting boilers, servicing up to 150-ton chillers and all related HVAC equipment to safely obtain and maintain optimum efficiency for the energy management program. Experience with mechanical industrial water treatment, quality assurance, and inspection is also a key part of this role.
